Job Description

The Le Roy Central School District is seeking a long-term substitute Science (Living Environment/Biology) teacher (Grades 7-12) for an appointment beginning in September 2025.  We are seeking an individual to join our top-notch Science department, which is highlighted by our strong annual Regents and AP results.  The department also boasts many high-level learning opportunities through AP Chemistry and AP Biology.

The Le Roy Jr./Sr. High School has 550+ students in grades 7-12, 70+ staff members, and has a proud tradition of academic excellence and maintains high behavioral standards.  We have a very diverse and vast course catalog that allows our students to challenge themselves and expand their horizons.  We look forward to hiring an individual that will have a positive impact on our school community.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Prepare and teach Regents Living Environment/Biology in accordance with NYS curriculum and standards
• Prepare and instruct literacy rich science courses
• Prepare and instruct academic support for science students
• Stay current in research-based instructional practices and pedagogy, NYS standards, assessment, curriculum, and Response to Intervention practices
• Maintain and enhance collaboration with team members and department members
• Utilize technology to maximize instruction and learning
• Promote social emotional learning and restorative practices
